July 22nd is World Fragile X Day!

| 21 Jul 2021

Today we are joining efforts to raise fragile X awareness around the world.

Fragile X-associated disorders are a family of inherited conditions caused by expansions in the fragile X (FMR1) gene. Expansions in the FMR1 gene are common, but fragile X-associated disorders are frequently under-recognised and are often misdiagnosed.

For more information about fragile X-associated disorders, including syndrome, fragile X-associated premature ovarian insufficiency, and fragile X-associated tremor ataxia syndrome, visit our friends at the Fragile X Association of Australia (https://www.fragilex.org.au/).
