Projects & Publications

3DN has a diverse research program which spans clinical neurosciences, data linkage, policy analysis, service evaluation, ageing and dementia in intellectual disability and the criminal justice system. We have a number of projects that focus on multidisciplinary and translational research in the area of intellectual disability and mental health, as well as projects focussed on understanding professional training needs and developing educational resources that enhance practice and support.

We also lead the intellectual disability and dementia work undertaken in collaboration with the Dementia Collaborative Research Centres (DCRC), and the Inflammation, cardiovascular and metabolic risk factor work undertaken within the Centre for Health Brain Ageing (CHeBA).

We provide submissions and reports to governments and to other agencies to lobby for improved policy and service provision and overall recognition of the health and mental health needs of people with an intellectual disability.
