Dementia in people with Intellectual Disability: Guidelines for Australian GPs

General practitioners need to be aware that people with intellectual disability (ID) are at increased risk of dementia with earlier onset. These guidelines have been written for Australian primary care practitioners to assist them in the process of screening, assessing and managing dementia in people with intellectual disability. These guidelines are also included within a wider publication People with dementia: A care guide for general practice, which also covers other priority topics relevant to dementia for GPs.

That guide is available here.
